6. Before you start
Remove the hotplate and all accessories from the packaging and check that the package contents are
complete. Remove any protective films. Keep the packaging material away from children and dispose
of appropriately.
6.1 Switching on/off
•
Switch the ON/OFF switch (4) on the side of the device to the “
I
” position to switch on the dual
hotplate.
•
Switch the ON/OFF switch (4) on the side of the device to the “
0
” position to switch off the dual
hotplate.
•
To switch the hotplates (1, 3) on, twist the relevant thermostat (5, 8) clockwise away from the
“
MIN
” position. The “
MAX
” position on each of the thermostats (5, 8) indicates the top heat
level. The relevant status indicator (6, 7) is on.
•
To switch the hotplates (1, 3) off, twist the relevant thermostat (5, 8) anticlockwise back to the
“
MIN
” position. The relevant status indicator (6, 7) goes out.
6.2 Setup/First use
•
Place the hotplate on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface.
•
Connect the power plug to an easily accessible mains socket.
•
In order to remove any production residues, operate the hotplate for approx. 3 minutes at the
maximum temperature with no pan on it before using it for the first time. To do this, twist both
thermostats (5, 8) clockwise to the “
MAX
” position (maximum heat). Occasionally, smoke can
develop. If this happens, ensure there is sufficient ventilation by opening a window if necessary.
