Appendix J.
Enter SIM PIN code
This only applies when using a mini-SIM instead if the embedded SIM.
If a SIM-card that requires a PIN code is used, the PIN code can be
entered by doing the following:
1.
On a PC, make a text file with the name simpin.txt with the PIN
code in its first (and only) line.
2.
Set the unit in USB mode and copy the file above to the root of
the SD-card.
3.
Reboot. This will configure the PIN code.
4.
When succeeded, the file is automatically removed from the SD-
card.
5.
To verify the PIN code, start a manual connection and check the
communication menu (from the main screen, press [COMM]
twice. The unit must not be in flight mode). If the PIN code is
incorrect, the remaining number of attempts will be shown when
the connection fails. If a wrong PIN code has been used three
times, the SIM-card will require the PUK code (together with a
new PIN code) to unlock. This will also be clearly shown in the
communication menu when a connection fails.
If needed, a PUK code can also be entered. When entering the PUK code,
a new PIN code must also be provided and the SIM-card will be
reconfigured to this. Create a text file named simpin.txt (same as above).
Put the new PIN code on the first line, and the PUK code on the second
line. If the PUK code is “12345678”, and the new PIN code is “1111”,
write the following:
1111
12345678
After this is done, follow steps 2-5 from the list above. If successful, the
SIM-card will now be unlocked, and the PIN code set to “1111”.
