1.2.2. Operating System
The operating system of the modem is responsible for the following functions:

Drives the modem via an AT Command interface over a serial port

Real Time Clock (RTC) with calendar

Dual-mode UMTS (WCDMA) / HSDPA / HSUPA / EDGE / GPRS / GSM operation
Note: The GL8200 is not programmable.
