6.3.6
Implementing user acknowledgment for global reintegration
If an F-I/O error is detected by the fail-safe system, the affected F-I/O and/or drive components
are passivated.
With the passivation of a failsafe component, for the components involved, substitute values
are provided or are transferred instead of the active process values or output values.
After resolving the cause of the fault, the component involved must be reintegrated, i.e. a
switchover from substitute values to process values or output values.
Depending on the fault type or the component, in which the fault occurs, you can set passivation
and reintegration differently:
Fault type
Passivation
Reintegration
Communication
All channels of the module
After a communication error, user acknowledg‐
ment is always required.
F-I/O
or Drive
dependent on the F-I/O DB parameter:
● ACK_NEC=1:
user acknowledgment required
● ACK_NEC=0
automatic reintegration
Channel
Depending on F-parameter "Be‐
havior after channel fault" of the
module:
● Passivation of the channel
● Passivation of the complete
module
You implement reintegration after user acknowledgment by interconnecting the signal,
generated by the operator action, with one of the following parameters:
● F-I/O DB parameter "ACK_REI": Reintegration of the corresponding module (all channels)
● Operation "ACK_GL" (parameter "ACK_GLOB"): Reintegration of all modules of a F-
runtime group
