1.2 Requirements

In order to achieve a low overall height with SINAMICS S120 power units, use SINAMICS S120 Booksize Compact power
units or PM340 power modules connected via the CUA31/CUA32 control unit adapter.
Heat dissipation
If SIMOTION D4x5-2 control units are mounted horizontally, a double fan / battery module is required as in the standard
mounting position.
The double fan / battery module is always contained in the scope of delivery of the control unit for the SIMOTION D4x5-2.

CAUTION
SIMOTION D4x5-2 control units can have a high surface temperature particularly on the aluminum front and the top of the
module especially with the "horizontal" installation type. Perform a module and cable replacement only when the module
has cooled down.
The ventilation spaces of 80 mm must be complied with, see Fig. "Installation of the SIMOTION D4x5-2 in a horizontal
position". The control cabinet cooling concept must also ensure that the maximum air inlet temperature and the ambient
temperature do not exceed 55° C.

2 Installing
The D4x5-2/CX32-2 are fixed in the same way as in the standard "vertical installation" mounting position.
