SIMATIC TD 200 Operator Interface

Edit Password Bytes 10 and 11 (Optional)
Bytes 10 and 11 of the TD 200 parameter block store a password that allows you
to edit the configuration of the TD 200 or to change variables. This password is a
four-digit integer (from 0000 to 9999). Byte 3 of the parameter block enables the
password protection. If you enable the password protection by setting the
password bit in byte 3, you must enter a password in bytes 10 and 11; however, if
you do not enable password protection in byte 3, you are not required to store a
password in bytes 10 and 11.
Character Set Selection Bytes 12 and 13 (Optional)
Bytes 12 and 13 of the TD 200 parameter block contain a character set selection
value. If the character set bit is set in byte 3 of the parameter block, the TD 200
uses bytes 12 and 13 to select the character set for display. These character sets
provide compatibility between Microsoft Windows and the TD 200, and allow the
TD 200 to display the same characters as the TD 200 wizard in
STEP 7–Micro/WIN.

The character set selection does not affect the language selection. The character
set selection only affects how the character codes that STEP 7–Micro/WIN stores
in the CPU data block are interpreted by the TD 200.
