Information on the dimensioning of the fuses in the higher-level plant circuits
A fuse, which is designed for a tripping current of typical 6.3 A, is integrated in the
power supply of the IPC. Pulse current are also taken into consideration by the "time
lag" type. In the case of fault, this fuse ensure the correct separation of the device
from the power supply.
It is recommended to use a fuse of at least 6.3 A for the protection of the higher-level
power supply circuit in addition to the power requirement of the additional devices
that are also supplied through this circuit. The tripping characteristic of the higher-
level protection must hereby take into consideration the starting currents of the IPC
and those of the other devices.
