Installing the Device
2.6.2 Connecting DC Power
provides reverse polarity protection and accepts secondary connections (+/-) from
the same power supply (if available).
To connect an external DC power source to the device, do the following:
Note
For examples of the supported wiring configurations, refer to
.
WARNING
Electrical hazard – risk of damage to the device
For Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) support, make sure the PoE power source is isolated
from earth/chassis ground. Do not connect either positive or negative terminals to
chassis ground.
1. If connecting a secondary power source, make sure the power source currently
connected to the device is disabled (e.g. power cable is unplugged from the wall
receptacle).
2. Insert the terminal block(s) into the device and tighten both screws. A power
terminal block must be installed in each port even if only one external power
supply is connected.

Assembling the Power Terminal Blocks
Note
Torque all terminal connections to 0.6 N·m (5 lbf-in).
Note
Each positive (+) terminal is identical, as are the negative (-) terminals. Cables
from an external power supply can be connected to any of the corresponding
terminals on the same terminal block.
