Permitted activities in hazardous areas
The table below describes which maintenance activities are permitted on AFD4 / AFD4 (FM)
/ AFD8 / AFS during operation.

Zone 2:
You may open the enclosure of the AFD4 / AFD4 (FM) / AFD8 / AFS briefly for the
permitted maintenance work.
Zone 22:
You must not open the enclosure of the AFD4 / AFD4 (FM) / AFD8 / AFS in areas with
dust.

Carry out maintenance every 6 months in the hazardous area.
Maintenance of the AFD4 / AFD4 (FM) / AFD8 / AFS is basically restricted to visual
inspections. The AFD4 / AFD4 (FM) / AFD8 / AFS may be in operation during this.

Check that the cable entries and the grounding
terminal of the enclosure are sealed and intact.

Warning:

Check whether there is any water or dust in-
side the enclosure. If there is, find out how it
got there.

cables).
