Installation

Intended use

The zone module, external powered, is operated on the

FDnet. Either a collective detector line or a

conventional detector line can be connected to the

input.

Housing FDCH221 (accessories) is available to protect

the module from environmental influences like moisture

and humidity.

Installing the zone module

The zone module can be installed as follows:

-

In housing FDCH221 (Fig. 2...4)

-

On a DIN rail (Fig. 1) in a fire control panel

Installation in housing FDCH221 (Fig. 2…4)

NOTICE

Zone module use in a damp, wet or dusty

environment
Damage to zone module from dust or jet of

water

·

In damp, wet or dusty environments, install

the zone module in housing FDCH221.

1. Open housing (Fig. 2).

2. Determine cable entries in housing and break them

open.

3. Use two screws to fit the housing on a plane surface

(Fig. 2).

4. Secure the M20 x 1.5 cable glands on the housing

and guide in the cables (Fig. 3).

5. Use two M3 x 12 screws to fit the zone module in the

housing.

6. Close housing using supplied screws (Fig. 4).

Installing the zone module on a DIN rail (Fig. 1)

NOTICE

High temperatures in the zone module's

environment
Zone module overheating and damage

·

A minimum clearance of 1 cm must be

observed between two zone modules or

between the module and any other

boundary.

1. Fit two FDCM291 mounting feet to the zone module.

2. Press the zone module against the DIN rail with the

mounting feet until the feet snap in.

Electrical connection (Fig. 5…7)

1. Connect the cables to the terminals according to the

pin assignment (Fig. 7). Only connect one wire per

terminal.

The secondary side must always be supplied

with power via an external supply in

accordance with EN 54-4.

2. Connect the end-of-line (EOL). This must be

connected at the end of the line (Fig. 5 Transzorb

diode, Fig. 6 EOL22(Ex)).

3. Fix the cables to the zone module using cable ties

(max. width 2.6 mm).
