Test Operation
Use the jumper L to activate the test operation, which loops the fiber-optic transmit and receive interface
within the CC-CO. This means that incoming data is not forwarded in the CC-CO, but rather fed back from the
transmitter of the device to the receiver. If the data has been successfully fed back to the device, the indica-
tion
data transmission failure
is cleared for the 7SD51 protection device. The protection device
reports data mirroring in the operational log. The Life Contact relay is also closed for the duration of the test
operation.
You can use this test operation during commissioning or for servicing purposes to test the fiber-optic cable
between the protection device and the CC-CO. To do this, plug the jumper L into position 1-2.
