Commissioning and configuration
You can perform commissioning, configuration, and diagnostics with the SOPAS ET
configuration software supplied.
6.1
Overview of the commissioning steps
•
Mounting and electrical installation must have been carried out.
•
Install the SOPAS ET configuration software.
•
Establish communication with the NAV210.
•
Create an application-specific parameter set with SOPAS ET and save in the NAV210
permanently.
•
Test the NAV210 for correct functioning.
– For landmark detection applications:
– Plan the reflector positions and mount the reflectors.
– Enter the reflector parameters into SOPAS ET.
•
If necessary, optimize the alignment of the scanner on the vehicle.
6.2
SOPAS ET configuration software
SOPAS ET makes interactive configuration possible. You can use this configuration
software to configure and test the measurement properties, analysis behavior, and output
properties of the NAV210 as required. The configuration data is stored and archived as a
parameter set (project file) on the PC.
Help on using the program user interface as well as for the different options can be found
in SOPAS ET:
•
Help menu, help F1: Detailed online help on the program user interface and the
individual options.
•
Help window (at the bottom left in the program user interface): Context sensitive help for
the visible dialog.
•
Tool tips: Move the mouse pointer over an input field. A short text (“tool tip”) with
information about valid entries appears.
The main functions are:
•
Menu language selection (German/English)
•
Establishing communication with the NAV210
•
Password-protected communication with different operating levels
•
NAV210 diagnostics
6.2.1
Installing SOPAS ET
Download the SOPAS ET software online from www.sick.com.
This download is approximately 200 MB in size and contains the Setup.exe for installing
SOPAS ET.
Follow the operating instructions to complete the installation.
WARNING:
The NAV210 must only be mounted, commissioned, and maintained by adequately
qualified personnel.
Before operating the system fitted with the NAV210 for the first time, make sure that it
is first checked and released by qualified safety personnel. Observe the notes provided
in chapter “Safety information” on page 9.
