Assembly
The DME4000 and the reflector are mounted in such a way that the reflector is always in the detection
field of the sensor.
The DME4000 is aligned in such a way that there is a clearly visible light spot in the middle of the
reflector (even at greater distances).
The mounting bracket available as an accessory enables simple alignment in the X and Y directions:

The reflector size should be selected so that the light spot does not move from the reflector due to
vibrations. If the reflector is attached to the moved part, smaller reflective tape normally suffices. To
avoid highly reflective surfaces (e. g. shelves or other surfaces) to mirror in light beams or scattered
light, align the reflector in the “free space”: mount with approx. 1
°
slant (X or Y direction). For different
reflector sizes, refer to the accessories (starting on page 84 and 92).
The reception level displayed in the information field 1 provides information about the current reception
signal.

Alignment Procedure
Move the vehicle and reflector a small distance from each other.
Align the DME4000 so that the light spot is in the middle of the reflector.
Increase the distance of the vehicle to the reflector and observe the light spot when you do this.
