7. User interface
The CLV features an integrated user interface as well as four LEDs to show the actual operating status. To
operate and parametrize the device with a PC, a terminal emulation program (e.g. "TERM" from SICK) is required.
If the CLV is connected with a terminal, no additional user software is necessary. Enter “a: TERM/E” to call up the
TERM program in English from disk in the a: drive on the PC.
‡ Choose the following settings on the PC/terminal for the relevant port "Com x":
2 400 Bits/s data transmission rate, 8 data bits, no parity, 1 stop bit
PC/terminal keyboard assignment
The four letters I, J, K and M on the keyboard are used to the control cursor in the menu. Press ENTER to
confirm any changes made or ESC to exit a menu item without saving the changes (
Fig. 6).
Fig. 6. Keyboard assignment for controlling the cursor in the operating menu
The CLV only recognises these 6 keys. An exception to this, however, are the match codes (alphanumeric
characters) which can be entered directly in Parametrization mode for the match code comparison.
Operation of the menus, which are largely self-explanantory, is explained in
Table 4.
