6.3 COMPRESSED AIR HOOK UP
NB: Before any installation work, check to make sure that the tyre changer is disconnected from all electric and pneumatic supply sources.
1.
Identify the compressed air line leading from the filter-regulator to the tyre changer pedal unit.
Cut this line cleanly with a cutter or other suitable tool at a convenient point inside the casing.
2.
Install the 8-6/8-6/6-4 T-union to restore the compressed air supply cut in the previous
step, and have another compressed air connector ready to fit onto the union.
3.
Connect the 6-4 diam. 800 mm long pipe leading from the SR 80 lifter to the union installed
in the previous step (
see Fig. N
).
4.
Restore the power connections to the tyre changer and check lifter operation, checking
also for air leaks.
5.
Refit the left hand side panel.

8 - OPERATION
7 - CONTROLS
The SR 80 tyre lift has a single control pedal (1, Fig. O) used to
operate the lift and to lower the tyre platform.
- Pressing the pedal raises the platform and stop it at its highest
position.
- Pressing the pedal again lowers the platform completely to the
ground.

The pedal must only be used by the person
operating the tyre changer.

The SR 80 has been designed to facilitate movement of tyres from the floor to the turntable and vice-versa.
Positioning the wheel:
1.
Place the wheel vertically on the platform.
2.
Press the pedal (1, Fig. O) to raise the platform. Hold the wheel with one hand as the platform moves so that the wheel is always balanced.
3.
Place the wheel on the turntable.
4.
Press the pedal again to return the lifter platform to its rest position.
Removing the wheel:
1.
Unclamp the wheel from the turntable grippers.
2.
Press the pedal to raise the platform.
3.
Place the wheel vertically on the platform.
4.
Press the pedal again to lower the wheel to the ground, holding the wheel with one hand to keep it steady throughout the entire descent.
