The miter gauge needs to be calibrated to the blade
when it is first mounted in the miter slot.
To calibrate the miter gauge, do these steps:
1.
DISCONNECT BANDSAW FROM POWER!
2.
Place one edge of a machinist's square against the
face of the miter gauge and the other against the
blade face as shown in
Figure 37
.
3.
Loosen the lock knob on the miter gauge and adjust
the gauge flush with the edge of the square.
4.
Tighten the lock knob, and verify the setting.
Note:
Sometimes the tightening procedure can
affect the adjustment. Always check your adjust-
ments after this step.
5.
Loosen the screw that secures the angle pointer and
adjust the pointer to the 0˚ mark on the scale.
6.
Retighten the screw that secures the angle pointer.
