When PLEXTALK is not playing, each time you adjust the volume, it
will beep and speak the volume level selected, for example, "Volume
16". However, when PLEXTALK is playing, it will beep but will not
speak the volume setting selected.
Note:
Each time you make an adjustment, a beep will be heard. A
higher pitched beep indicates the top or bottom of the available range
and a lower pitched beep indicates the middle volume position that is
volume 13.
Note:
Pressing and holding the Volume up key or down key will
cause the volume setting to change rapidly in the selected direction.
This saves you having to repeatedly press the key.
Note:
Pressing the Volume up key and down key together will lead to
middle volume position, volume 13.
10.4. Changing the guide volume.
The internal speech generated by PLEXTALK is called the guide
speech. The volume of the guide speech can either be adjusted in
conjunction with the playback volume or it can be adjusted
independently. If you wish the guide volume and playback volume to
be adjusted together, use the procedure detailed in the previous
section. The guide volume will increase and decrease as you adjust
the playback volume.
To set the guide volume independently, do the following:

Press the Menu key once to access the Main Menu.
•
Use the Number 4 or 6 key to go to the "System settings"
option and select it by pressing the Enter key or the Number 8
key.

Use the Number 4 or 6 key to go to the "Select guide volume"
option and select it by pressing the Enter key or the Number 8
key.
