HOW TO OPERATE THIS MACHINE
7.0 HOW TO OPERATE THIS MACHINE
In this chapter, installation of this Drill Motor, and how to operate the machine are explained.
7.1 INSTALLATION OF SIDE HANDLE
To use RH1531 at hand held mode, install the included side handle to the drill nose. Turn the handle to clockwise
to make it tight. To loosen it, turn the handle to counterclockwise. Do not over tighten the side handle.
7.2 CHOOSE PROPER REVOLUTION SPEED
RH1531 has a 3-Speed Gearbox. “H” is a high-speed range, “M” is a middle speed range, and “L” is a low speed
range.
A proper speed range should be decided, based on the diameter drilled. Refer to the following tables. Note this table is
merely reference. Maximum drilling diameter depends on the hardness of concrete, aggregate, size of rebar, drilling
depth etc. However do not exceed the maximum diameter.

Drilling Diameter Recommendation
H

14.5mm to25mm (1/2” – 1”)
M
2000min-1
27mm to 65mm (1 1/8” – 2 3/8”)
RH1531
L
800min-1
65mm to 180 mm (2 1/2”-7”)
Before plug into power supply, shift the gear selector to choose
proper gear by turning the spindle of drill by hand.
7.3 ATTACH CORE-BIT
RH1531 has a spindle shaft of G1/2” (BSPP 1/2”) female thread. In order to use the core bit other than G1/2” male
thread, such as 5/8”-11 and 1-1/4”-7, thread adaptor may need to be installed. Refer to following sketch.
Screw in a Core-Bit and an adaptor and tighten them gently with a wrench.
DANGER!!!
Make sure machine is unplugged until all the settings are completed.
DANGER!!!
Never use Speed Range-L at hand held operation. The drill motor generates highest torque at Low gear
range, especially at the moment when core bit gets stuck. Failure to obey this instruction may result in
serious injury.
CAUTION!
Do not shift the gear while the drill motor is running. It may result in
the damage of whole transmission gear system.
TIPS!
Lubricate the thread of the Spindle with some grease and
then attach the Core-Bit. The lubricant on the thread makes
Core-Bit removal easier after drilling.
CAUTION!
The gear must be shifted when the Drill Motor completely stops its revolution. If the gear is not shifted
well, shift the gear while rotating the Spindle by hand.
