Word games (Buchstabenrätsel)
With these functions you can train vocabulary with effortless ease, or become word
game king. PW-E420 contains two word games.
Crossword solver (Kreuzworträtsel lösen)
Use a wildcard character ‘?’ to search for words with ambiguous spellings. Place the
appropriate number of ‘?’ characters in the places of characters yet to be determined.
Press the ‘?’ You can find a second function of the M button.
<Example>
Find a matching word for a query ‘w?rt’.

twice to place the cursor at the
‘Buchstabenrätsel’, then press

The solver menu appears.

screen appears.
4. Type ‘w?rt’ into the input field. Press
^ ?
once to enter ‘?’.
5. Press
e
to start the search.
A list of the wildcard matches appear. Up to 100 words may be displayed in the list.
6. In the list, select a desired word using the number keys.
The detail view of the selected word appears.

f
to return to the previous view.
• Press
^ l
to list the headwords in Duden – Die deutsche Re-
chtschreibung .
• To initiate another search, simply type in the new spelling or press
^
b
to return to the input screen of the Crossword solver.
• To search for ‘ß’ character in the Crossword solver, enter ‘?’ twice. (e.g. for
searching ‘groß’, type ‘gro??’.)
Anagram solver (Anagramm lösen)
A word or series of letters can be entered to find any matching anagrams found in
Duden – Die deutsche Rechtschreibung . An anagram is a word game, which creates
meaningful, new words by re-arranging the sequence of characters.
<Example>
Find anagrams for ‘Lauf’.
