ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURE
The adjustment values are set to the optimum conditions at the factory before shipping. If a value should
become improper or an adjustment is required due to part replacement, make an adjustment according to the
following procedure.
1. After replacement of any PWB unit and/or IC for repair, please note the following.
When replacing the following units, make sure to prepare the new units loaded with updated software.
MAIN Unit: DUNTKD375FM01 (LC-26DA5U) / DUNTKD375FM02 (LC-32DA5U)
2. Upgrading of each microprocessor software
Caution: Never "POWER OFF" the unit when software upgrade is ongoing.
Otherwise the system may be damaged beyond recovery.

2-2-1 Scope
This document describes how to upgrade software of M16C processor used in DA5U series, which are
2005 AQUOS analog models for US market. With this instruction, upgrade process can be achieved by
means of serial communication with PC.
2-2-2 System requirements and necessary accessories
[1] PC requirements
•
Windows XP, 2000, 98SE, 98, or ME installed
•
COM port supported at 115200 bps
(PC sold before 1995 may not support 11520 bps due to lack of standard UART IC called 16550. If PC does
not have COM port, USB-serial converter may be used.
[2] Upgrade software "M16VersionUp.exe" for Windows
[3] RS-232C cross-over cable
[4] ROM image file
(TA1US2M_V???.BIN; binary file with 2MB size)
2-2-3 Preparation
2-2-3-1 Installation of upgrade software "M16VersionUp.exe"
"M16VersionUp.exe" should be copied on PC. Because no registry used, you can just delete the file when
you want to uninstall it.
2-2-3-2 Connection between AQUOS and PC
[1] First please make sure that AQUOS power cable should be unplugged. (Please note that this is different from
power button operation on AQUOS.)
[2] Connect RS-232C cross-over cable between AQUOS serial port and PC COM port.
