Making coffee
∙ Filling with water:
Open the appliance lid and pour the
required amount of cold water into the
water reservoir.
∙ Inserting the paper filter:
Insert the permanent filter or a paper filter,
size 4, into the filter insert. Fold over the
perforated sides of the paper filter before
inserting.
∙ Filling with ground coffee:
For each normal-sized cup (125 ml), we
recommend using about 6 g = 1½ to 2
teaspoons of medium to finely ground
coffee. Then close the appliance lid.
∙ Preparing the glass carafe:
Close the jug lid and place the jug in
position in the appliance. During the
brewing process, the drip cap in the filter is
opened up by the lid.
∙ Starting the brewing cycle:
Plug the appliance in and use the button
to switch the coffee machine on. Water
starts to flow through. to turn the coffee
maker on. The filtration cycle starts and the
water passes through the filter.
∙ Removing the glass carafe:
Wait for the water to pass through the filter
and then remove the jug.
∙ Switching off the coffee maker:
The coffee may be kept warm inside the
carafe by leaving it standing on the hot-
plate. Once the last cup has been poured,
press to switch the coffee maker off.
Unless the appliance is switched off
manually, the hot-plate remains hot for
around 35 minutes after the brewing
cycle, when the appliance will switch itself
off automatically. Always switch off the
appliance after use and remove the plug
from the wall socket.
∙ After use:
Unplug from mains power and clean the
appliance as described in the Cleaning and
Care section.
Cleaning and care
∙ Before cleaning the appliance, ensure it
is disconnected from the power supply
and has cooled down completely.
∙ To avoid any risk of electric shock, do
not clean the coffee maker with liquids
or immerse it in a liquid. The appliance
may be cleaned with a slightly damp
cloth, using a mild detergent. Wipe dry
afterwards.
∙ Do not use abrasives or harsh cleaning
solutions.
∙ To remove any used coffee grounds,
open the appliance lid and take out the
filter insert.
∙ Dispose of the paper filter with the used
coffee grounds. The coffee grounds can
be composted.
∙ Empty out the permanent filter, clean
with soapy water, rinse and allow to dry.
∙ Rinse out the filter insert, wipe it dry and
replace it.
∙ Clean the coffee jug and lid after use,
with soapy water, or in the dishwasher.
∙ For easy cleaning, open the carafe lid
and remove it by pulling it up. Replace it
after cleaning, applying light pressure.
