Replacing battery
The wireless unit 23-080 can be connected to an
adapter 23-513 or can use batteries. The working life
of the batteries is determined by the frequency of
activation and the ambient temperature. Frequent
activation in cold conditions produces shorter battery
life. When the batteries are empty, the light will be
abnormal and the batteries should be replaced.
The adapter 23-513 that powers the unit 23-080 is
the best cost solution.
Changing batteries
1. Open the battery cover on the bottom of
the unit. Fig. 1
2. Fit the 6 x 1.5 volt AA batteries ensuring
correct polarity. Incorrectly fitted batteries can
damage the unit. Fig. 3
3. Replace the battery cover. Fig. 4
Labelling
The location of the various transmitters can be
indicated on the front of the unit. The LED indicates
which transmitter has activated the unit.
Remove the plastic cover and write the transmitter
location on the label. Then replace the label and
cover. Fig. 7
Troubleshooting
When the receiver does not function satisfactorily,
the following points can be of assistance

Problem:
The 23-080 unit does not emit a chime or the
LED does not light.
1. No battery or incorrectly fitted battery.
1. Fit new batteries and check for correct
positioning.
2. No power supply from the adapter.
2. Switch on supply to adapter.
3. Transmitter and receiver have different
codes.
3. Check that the transmitter codes are either
7, 9 or 11.
4. Volume potentiometer is switched off.
4. Ensure that the volume button is switched
on.
5. Outside effective range.
5. Check that the transmitter and receiver are
within the effective range.
6. Interference from other units.
6. Check that there are no other wireless
systems interfering with the transmitter and
receiver.
The unit 23-080 sounds abnormal.
1. The associated transmitter is functioning
abnormally.
1. Ensure that the transmitter is functioning
correctly.
2. The battery power is too weak.
