6.3.2 RS232
May be used for data transfer in ASCII or protocol format. The RS232 interface is activated by a bridge
in the RS232 connection cable.

Note
: Pins 1 and 9 must be bridged on the SCU 800 end of the connection cable

Data transfer only in protocol format. The RS485 interface is always active if the RS232 cable is not
connected.

The following rules apply for the baud rate setting:
Power up SCU:
Baud rate is read from the EEPROM
Move S1:
Changing the baud rate with S1 is only possible while the SCU 800 is
switched on. Changes are saved in the EEPROM.
Changing the position of S1 while the SCU 800 is switched off has no effect
on the baud rate setting.
