SERVICE AND ADJUSTMENTS
ENGINE
Maintenance, repair, or re place ment of the emission con-
trol devices and systems, which are being done at the
cus tom ers expense, may be per formed by any non-road
en gine repair establishment or in di vid u al. War ran ty repairs
must be per formed by an au tho rized en gine man u fac tur er's
ser vice out let.
TO ADJUST THROTTLE CONTROL CABLE
(See Fig. 28)
The throttle control has been preset at the factory and
adjustment should not be necessary. If adjustment is nec-
essary, proceed as follows:
• With engine not running, move remote throttle control
lever to "FAST" position.
• If throttle lever on engine touches high speed stop, no
further adjustment is necessary. If throttle lever does
not touch high speed stop, continue with adjustment
procedure.
• Loosen cable clamp screw.
• Move throttle lever up until it touches high speed stop,
and hold in this position.
• Tighten cable clamp screw se cure ly.
TO ADJUST CARBURETOR
The carburetor has a high speed jet and has been preset
at the factory and ad just ment should not be necessary.
How ev er, minor ad just ments may be required to compensate
for dif fer ences in fuel, temperature, altitude or load. If the
carburetor does need adjustment, proceed as follows.
High speed stop is factory adjusted. Do not adjust or dam-
age may result.

SPEED. OVER SPEED ING THE ENGINE ABOVE THE FACTORY
HIGH SPEED SET TING CAN BE DANGEROUS. IF YOU THINK
THE ENGINE-GOVERNED HIGH SPEED NEEDS ADJUSTING,
CON TACT YOUR NEAREST AUTHORIZED SERVICE CENTER/
DEPARTMENT, WHICH HAS THE PROPER EQUIP MENT AND
EX PE RI ENCE TO MAKE ANY NEC ES SARY ADJUSTMENTS.
