underway transits, it should be secured with nylon straps regardless of sea conditions to prevent damage to the
antenna system. Refer to the procedure below to secure the antenna pedestal.
Equipment & Hardware needed:
Two (2) ½-13 x 2-inch Stainless Steel bolts.
Two (2) Nylon straps with ratchet mechanism.
Nylon straps must be rated to 300 lbs. Working load
capacity and 900 lbs. Max rated capacity.
Stowing procedure:
1.
Point the antenna to Zenith, (90 degree elevation angle),
straight up.
Install one (1) ½-13 x 2-inch bolt into the inside of each elevation
beam as shown in Figure 1.
Hook one end hook of the nylon strap to bolt in elevation beam as
shown in Figure 2.
