The anchor locker is designed for one fluke style anchor that is
properly secured in the cradle. Do not store additional anchors
or any heavy object in the anchor locker. Spare anchors and
weights for floating markers will bounce and damage the hull or
rope locker if they are stored in the anchor/rope locker. Always
store and secure additional anchors and weights in a storage
compartment in the cockpit, as far aft as possible.
The anchor locker is drained by a thru-hull fitting in the hull side
near the bottom of the locker. It is very important to check the
drain frequently to make sure it is clean and free flowing.
THE ANCHOR MUST BE POSITIONED SO IT DOES
NOT REST DIRECTLY AGAINST THE SIDES OF
THE LOCKER AND BE PROPERLY SECURED AT
ALL TIMES WHEN IT IS STORED IN THE ANCHOR
LOCKER. A LOOSE ANCHOR IN THE ANCHOR
LOCKER WILL BOUNCE AND CAN DAMAGE THE
BOAT. DAMAGE RESULTING FROM THE ANCHOR
BOUNCING IN THE ANCHOR LOCKER IS NOT
COVERED BY THE SCOUT WARRANTY.
Windshield
The Dorado is equipped with heavy duty aluminum windshield
with tinted glass. The center windshield section opens to pro-
vide ventilation and access to the bow seating area.
The section is opened by releasing the locks on the inside of
the windshield. A special automatic latch on the deck secures
the section in the open position. To close the windshield panel,
pull the quick release button on the latch to release the panel.
Then close the panel and secure it with the locks. Make sure
the center section is properly latched in the open or closed
position before cruising.
TO AVOID INJURY, THE CENTER WINDSHIELD
SECTION MUST BE SECURED IN THE OPEN OR
CLOSED POSITION WHEN VESSEL IS IN MOTION.
MAKE SURE USE BOTH LOCKS WHEN SECURING
THE WINDSHIELD SECTION IN THE CLOSED
POSITION.

Engine Mounting System and Swim Platform
Your Scout is equipped with an engine mounting system that
is integrated into the hull and stringer system and designed
to equally distribute the stresses of engine weight and thrust
throughout the entire hull.
The design of the engine mounting system requires the stern
seat and wave gate be in the folded or down position before
tilting the engine to the full up or trailering position. If the
