Maintenance

 

General 

Regular cleaning is a precondition for good operational reliability.  The following advice 
is  to  be  observed  before  starting  any  servicing,  maintenance  or  repair  work  on  the 
machine. 

 

Observe the instructions for adjustments, inspection and maintenance activities provided 
in this manual at all times.

 

 

Instruct  operators  before  beginning  maintenance  work  and  appoint  a  person  to 
supervise such work. 
 
To  avoid  the  risk  of  accidents  when  replacing  larger  parts,  ensure  suitable  lifting  and 
safety equipment is used.  Never work or stand under suspended parts! 
 
Always  observe  safety  procedures  when  carrying  out  maintenance  concerning 
operation, adaptation, conversion, adjustment, inspection and servicing of the machine. 
 
Before  cleaning  the  machine  with  water  or  high-pressure  cleaners  or  other  cleaning 
agents,  cover  any  openings  (for  safety  and  operational  reasons)  must  be  protected 
against  ingress  of  water,  steam  or  cleaning  agents.    Special  care  must  be  taken  with 
hydraulic motors and any electrical components. 
 
After  cleaning  remove  any  areas  covered  by  tape  or  other  materials  used  for  guarding 
against water, steam or cleaning agent ingress. 

 

Always retighten any screwed connections that have become loose during maintenance 
and repairs. 
 

 

Any safety devices  removed for cleaning,  maintenance or servicing  purposes,  must be 
refitted and secure upon completion of the work carried out. 
 
Ensure  that  all  oils,  consumables  and  replaced  parts  are  disposed  of  safely  and  with 
minimum  environmental  impact.    If  you  are  unsure  where  to  dispose  of  any  of  these 
materials, contact your local waste management office for advice.
