MAKING A VOICE CALL

The F1 to F4 or F5 buttons are assigned as Direct-Call buttons. Pressing such a button will place a call to the

pre-programmed identity.

With the radio in its idle state use the scroll left / right buttons              to select the required phone book entry

then press               to call.

The Users ID number can be entered directly as a dial string using the Keypad. e.g. 451               will call radio unit

No 451. When a call is placed, the ID and a call timer is displayed on the screen.

• Both radios will “ring” and will be connected and will display the audio enabled icon.

• A conversation can now take place by each operator, in turn, pressing their Microphone PTT buttons and speaking.

• When the call is finished, either operator can end the call by  pressing the Red Handset button.

NOTE:

If the called radio cannot be contacted (radio off or out of range) within a short period of time about 10-30 seconds

a Radio Busy or Unavailable message is displayed and call-fail tones are emitted.
