YOUR  CIRCUIT

Insert the  switch by

threading it through

the opening  and

attaching the washer

and cap

(if present)

.

In order for your circuit to turn on you need to realize:

• A circuit (reminds you of “circle”) is always a loop.

• Electricity will flow through the circuit from your power source

(the battery) to the light. You will use a switch to turn the light on

and off.

When you wire your circuit don’t ever connect a wire directly from

the positive side of the battery to the negative side - you will create a

short circuit.

The battery will start to heat. If this happens

disconnect all wires immediately and check your wiring diagram.

Tilt the lamp top so you can easily access

the wires.

Attach a lead from the switch to one

of the leads from the light bulb

holder.

Twist the wires together

clockwise and straighten

them

Slip cap over

the ends and

screw it on.

Your wires

and paperclip

should now be

positioned as

illustrated

Tighten cap

Take the free lead

from the light bulb

holder and wrap it

around the top of

the paperclip

Take the free lead from

the switch and wrap it

around the top of  the

paperclip
