Voltmeter

The voltmeter indicates the voltage at the battery terminals. The charger need

not be plugged into an AC outlet. The timer should be in the OFF position.

Then connect the charger following the instructions in Sections 6 and 7.

Observe the meter indication. Keep in mind that this reading is only a battery

voltage reading; a false surface charge may mislead you. We suggest that you

turn on the headlights for a couple of minutes before you read the meter. Read

it a couple of minutes after you have shut the headlights off.

Charge Rate Selector Switch

Use the Charge Rate selector switch to select the charge rate or engine

starting setting you require.

15A Slow Charge Rate

 – Use this setting when you want to give your

battery a complete charge. A slow charge rate will charge a battery more

completely.

30A Medium and 70A Fast Charge Rate

 – Use these settings when

you need to get the vehicle back on the road and then let the charging

system finish charging the battery, or use these settings when the battery is

severely discharged to get it partially charged and then switch to the slow

charge to charge it completely.

300A Engine Start

 – Provides 300 amps for cranking an engine with a

weak or run down battery. Always use in combination with a battery.
