7. GETTING ON AND OFF THE SKID STEER
Before getting onto the skid steer, the operator must read and completely understand the implement and skid
steer operator manuals. If any part of either manual is not completely understood, consult an authorized dealer
for a complete explanation
7.1 Boarding the Skid Steer
Use both hands and equipped handrails and steps for support when getting on the skid steer. Never use
control levers for support when mounting. Always seat yourself in the operator’s seat and fasten the seat belt.
Never allow passengers to ride on the skid steer or implement. Riders can easily fall off and be seriously
injured or killed from being ran over. It is the operator’s responsibility to forbid additional riders.
Do not operate this Equipment with hydraulic oil or fuel leaking. Oil
and fuel are explosive and their presence could present a hazard. Do
not check for leaks with your hand! High-pressure oil streams from
breaks in the line could penetrate the skin and cause tissue damage
including gangrene. To check for a hose leak, SHUT the unit ENGINE
OFF and remove all hydraulic pressure. Wear oil impenetrable gloves,
safety glasses and use cardboard to check for evidence of oil leaks. If
you suspect a leak, REMOVE the HOSE and have it tested at a Dealer.
If oil does penetrate the skin, have the injury treated immediately by a
physician knowledgeable and skilled in this procedure.
(SG-15)

Power Unit only when the Power Unit and all moving parts are

(SPU-18)
Never allow children or other persons to ride on the Power Unit or
Implement. Falling off can result in serious injury or death.
(SPU-16)
