S1 = Distance of inner MS to PF
S2 = Distance between 2 MS
S3 = Length of the material
MS 1 = Muting sensor 1
MS 2 = Muting sensor 2
MS 3 = Muting sensor 3
MS 4 = Muting sensor 4
AOPD = Active opto-electronic
ULS = Mirror
TRU = emitting-/receiving-unit SLG 425IP
VB = Conveyor speed (m/s)
Minimum distances of muting sensors
A mimimum distance for the muting sensors is required that the control unit of the AOPD can evaluate the
signals.
The signal length between the sensors closest to the AOPD must not be at less than 50 ms. This corresponds
to a minimum distance of 100 mm at a conveyor speed of 2.0 m/s.
The minimum signal length of the outer sensors must be greater than 50 ms. The signal run time between
the muting sensors must not exceed 3 seconds.
The assembly distance of the inner sensors to the protective field of the SLG 425IP should be as low as possible.
The sensors (emitter/receiver) of the SLG 425IP must be fixed as close as possible to the transported material
to prevent gaps. Otherwise there is a risk of people getting between material and arrangement of the MS
during the muting cycle.
If you work with different material dimensions (width) make sure to protect the gap between the sensors
(emitter/receiver) with an additional cover.
- Muting with 2 sensors, parallel arrangement
The arrangement shows the muting application with two parallel sensors. This arrangement allows for
material transport out of the danger zone in only one direction.
S1 = Distance MS 1 to PF
S2 = Distance MS 1 to MS 2
S3 = Length of the material
MS 1 = Muting sensor 1
MS 2 = Muting sensor 2
ULS = Mirror
TRU = emitting-/receiving-unit SLG 425IP
VB = Conveyor speed (m/s)
PF = protective field
S3 > S2 ; S1 = S2
S1 = Conveyor speed VB (m/s) * 0,05 s
The muting cycle as follows:
MS2- MS1- PF- End
Selectable options:
Conveyor stop, override, protective field range
Default setting:
Muting cycle shortened, i.e. muting cycle is terminated by release of protective field.
This arrangement is only admissible when the muting sensors are mounted within the danger zone.
