4  Installation

4.1  Initiation

The device must be installed and maintained by qualified personnel, mechanics
and electricians. Any work on the electrical equipment may be carried out only
by a qualified electrician.

The electrical connection must be made behind the disconnecting switch or
maintenance switch and in front of the main switch or emergency-stop switch of
the crane. When the main switch of the crane or the emergency-stop switch are
activated, the lifting unit must not switch off as this may be dangerous.

Suspend the lifting device from the suspension bolt / shackle on the crane

used. Secure it safely! The weight of the lifting device must be taken into
account when determining the maximum load based on the maximum
carrying capacity of the crane!

Connect the power input of the lifting device to the power supply of the

lifting tackle (e.g. crane or chain hoist) in accordance with the locally
applicable regulations.  This must be done by a qualified electrician.

Check the Rotation
Direction
(Three-phase Motor)

Caution

Switch the pump on.

Watch the fan blade of the motor. It must turn in the direction of the arrow

on the motor housing.

The unit is designed for use with a three-phase supply with clockwise field.

If the fan turns in the wrong direction, switch the unit off immediately and
swap two phase connections.

Check again.

This may be done only by a trained electrician.

The guarantee does not cover damage caused by operation in the wrong
direction of rotation.

After installation, check the entire system for leaks.

4.2  Adjusting the Load

Suspension Device

The load suspension device is firmly screwed to the unit's body. Before using
the unit, check that all screws are correctly tightened.
The suction pads and the rails are adjustable. To alter the adjustments,
unscrew the star-grip handles on the glide shoes by one turn. Adjust the rail or
suction pads to the desired position and retighten the star-grip handle.
Ensure that the load suspension device is adjusted symmetrically. If the device
has more than 4 suction pads, note the special instructions in the section
“Operation“.
Then check the vacuum connections (hoses).
