•
Always stand in the proscribed position when
operating.
•
Keep all body parts clear of the lifting
mechanism and never stand under the fork
and load.
•
Never use for personnel transport.
•
Never use for moving unstable or loose loads.
Take particular care when handling long, high
or wide loads to avoid them falling, hitting
other people or tipping the truck over.
•
Do not overload. Lifting capacity is stated on
type plate. The truck will not function
properly if overloaded.
•
Lifting capacity will depend on load being
evenly distributed and centre of gravity being
in middle of fork.
•
Check that fork length corresponds to pallet
length
•
Always lower the fork completely when not in
use.
•
Mechanical pallet trucks are intended for use
on smooth, hard surfaces. If the truck is to be
used on inclines, a handbrake can be ordered
as an optional extra. the truck can be stopped
in an emergency by lowering the load onto the
ground.
If the truck is stopped in this way, avoid
getting any bodily parts caught under the
load.
•
NEVER use on inclines with a load which is
too heavy for the user to handle. The truck is
mechanical, and must therefore not be used by
anyone physically incapable of handling it
when loaded.
•
Do not use release handle suddenly. This can
damage the lift and items on the fork.
•
Do not pump handle too quickly when
elevating. This can damage the hydraulic
system.
