4. Now rotate the reservoir handle counter-clockwise 1 to 1½ turns. This will set the ram retraction
position and allow the tool to slide along the connector when multiple crimps are to be made.
5. Align the dies between the crimp lines on the connector, if present.
6. Pump the handle until the overload valve “pops off.” There will be an audible noise and greatly
reduced handle force when the tool reaches pressure and the overload valve pops off.
7. Open the handles part way. Pull the release trigger (located on the handle) to position the
release bar. While holding the release trigger, close the handles to allow the release bar to
depress the release valve. The ram will retract to the position set in step 4.
8. Move the tool to the next crimp position and repeat steps 5 through 6.
9. When the connector has been completely crimped, retract the ram (step 7) and rotate the
reservoir handle counter-clockwise to retract the ram fully and remove the tool from the
connector.
3.3 Carrying out a crimping connection with the Y35BH remote control head
Connect the crimping head to the Standard male connector of 3/8 " NPT and to the 700 bars pump.
Consult the user’s manual of the pump in order to carry out a crimping connection.
4. MAINTENANCE
4.1 Replacing hydraulic fluid
WARNING
NEVER service or adjust a tool that is pressurized. Servicing
a pressurized tool may result in severe personal injury. To
avoid injury, fully retract the ram by rotating the reservoir
handle counter-clockwise until it stops.
Follow these instructions to replace the hydraulic fluid
in your Y35 tool.
1. Fully retract the ram by rotating the reservoir
handle counter-clockwise until it stops.
2. Place the head of the tool in a vise with the
handles in an upright position.
3. Remove the cap screw located between the
bladder and reservoir handle.
4. Unscrew the reservoir handle and remove to
reveal the filler port screw, if not, add hydraulic
fluid (
never use hydraulic brake fluid
).
