FOR LONGER ON TOP & FADED ON THE SIDES
The V Double now makes it even easier to create a DIY faded look on the sides, with a
longer length on top.
1.
Start with the 9.5mm (Grade #3) length comb guide first, depending on how
long you want the top part of the fade to be. This can depend on how long your
hair is on the top.
2.
Remove the bulk of hair on the lower half of the head and sides using the
9.5mm (Grade #3) comb guide, ensuring you stay just below the curvature
of the head. Using a sweeping backwards and forwards cutting motion, start
cutting at the nape of the neck and work your wayaround the head from left to
right, making sure you stay just below the curvature of the head.
3.
Attach the 3mm (Grade #1) shortest length comb guide. In this step you are
going to cut the shortest length of the fade. Do not cut your shortest length
any higher than a above the ear, ideally it should be aligned with the middle
of the ear (or lower, if preferred). Using a sweeping backwards and forwards
cutting motion, start cutting at the nape of the neck and work your way
around the head from left to right.
4.
To blend the fade and bridge the gap, attach the 6mm (Grade #2) comb guide
and cut the hair between the longest and shortest length that you cut in steps
2 and 3, using the same sweeping backwards and forwards cutting motion,
starting at the nape of the neck and working your way around the head from
left to right.
5.
To cut the length on top of your head, attach the 13mm (Grade #4) longest
length comb guide. Starting at the back of the head, above your fade, use a
sweeping backwards and forwards cutting motion moving towards the front
of the head.
