START-UP OF UNIT
Follow the procedures for the initial and consequent operations of the unit.
1.
Make sure that all the switches on the control panel, such as the power switch, the battery switch, the
back-up switch (AT type) are turned off.
2.
By using the joint and connect tube enclosed with the freezer, connect the liquid CO2 cylinder to the
joint of the back-up system. (AT type)
3.
Shut the door and connect the power cord to the power supply after the inner lid is installed.
4.
Turn on the power switch, and temperature is displayed on the temperature display area. This freezer
uses a cascade refrigeration system. At first a compressor operates for a while, and then another
compressor starts cooling.
5.
Turn on the battery switch.
Note:
The battery needs to be replaced about every 3 years. Contact Sanyo sales representative or agent for
battery replacement.
6.
The alarm buzzer sometimes operates. In this case, stop the buzzer by pressing the alarm buzzer
stop key (BUZZER). Do not set the chamber temperature lower than -85
o
C.
7.
Set the chamber temperature to the desired temperature.
8.
Make sure the required temperature is displayed on the temperature display.
9.
Turn on the battery switch and the CO
2
back-up switch for AT type.
10.
Make sure that the alarm lamp blinks and the buzzer sounds, by pressing the alarm test key (ALARM
TEST).
11.
In the case of operating AT type, make sure that liquid CO
2
spouts into the freezer by pushing the
CO
2
back-up test switch (TEST).
12.
Now you can put articles into the freezer. Switch off the battery switch and the CO
2
back-up switch
(AT type only) temporarily when putting in a lot of warm articles. Switch on again after a certain period
of operation.
