To prepare the wall plate for mounting:
Slide the arms of the wall plate

together and insert the slide lock

into place. This will lock the arms into full extension making the wall plate
mounting and TV attachment easier.
Install the locking screws

into the sides of the face plate using the 3⁄16 in
hex key

. Screw in only until the end of the screw is fl ush with the inside
of the plate. This will allow the TV to be mounted without interference.
