Water Pump Assembly
1 . Secure the water pump to the base plate with the provided pump mounting hardware .
See Figure 1 .
2 . Screw the 1¼”-1½” hose connector into the center port of the water pump . Ensure that
O-Ring A (2¼” dia) is installed between the port and the connector .
3 . Remove the threaded ring (collar) on the outer opening of the pump .
4 . Place O-Ring B (3" dia) in the groove around the hair and lint strainer basket .
5 . Place the transparent hair & lint strainer cover in place and then screw the threaded ring
(collar) back on securely over the cover .
6 . Insert O-Ring C (1½" dia) inside the outward facing opening of the transparent hair & lint
strainer cover . Then attach the hose connector to the strainer cover . See Figure 2 .
7 . Place the base plate and pump in your selected site where the Pool Filter System will be
located for normal operation . This site should be within the reach of the pool filter and
return hoses but no closer than 10 feet to the pool (see Section 1, Safety Warnings) .
Filter Tank Assembly
1 . Installing the drain valve . See Figure 3 .
a . Install one gasket onto the main body of the drain valve . Place this valve through
the drain hole in the bottom of the filter .
b . Place the other gasket on the outside of the tank onto the main body and secure
it with the plastic collar .
c . Install the drain cap for the valve and ensure all of the components are tight .
2 . Installing the manifold assembly . See Figure 4 .
a . Assemble the manifold, manifold tube and manifold fingers . The fingers are keyed
and twist into place . NOTE: The manifold fingers need to be assembled INSIDE the
tank . Otherwise the assembled manifold cannot be placed inside the tank .
3 . Place the filter tank into the corresponding groove located in the filter base plate .
See Figure 5 .
4 . Filling the filter tank with sand .
Note:
The filter pump assembly should be in its permanent location before
filling the chamber with sand . Otherwise the unit will be too heavy
and difficult to move around .
a . Install the spigot on the mouth of the filter tank, making sure that the spigot is holding
the manifold tube securely . This will ensure that when filling the tank, no sand will enter
the manifold assembly . NOTE: The spigot is only used when adding sand to the tank .
Remove the spigot after adding sand .
b . Carefully fill the filter tank with 125 lbs of No . 20 silica sand .
cautiOn
Use breathing filter/mask approved for dust & sand and adequate
eye protection while filling the tank. Avoid breathing in dust.
imPORtant
It is important to ensure that sand does not exceed the recommended quantity/weight.
