2. Restoring the System
The following procedures enable you to try to restore the player when it cannot be turned on.
1. Symptoms
A. You cannot turn the player on by pressing and holding the Power switch.
B. Although the player is switched on you cannot make a USB connection.
D. The icons on the player’s LCD are displayed abnormally or do not work properly.
E. A file is corrupted or you cannot access the player in Windows even if there is a "Removable Disk"
in My Computer.
2. Countermeasures
A. General Firmware Upgrade
You can restore the system by upgrading the firmware when the player malfunctions due to corrupted files.
B. Emergency Firmware Upgrade (DFU Upgrade)
You can run the following procedures when the player is not recognized by a PC via USB connection,
due to total firmware corruption.
1) Run the Serenade DFU program.
(Install the DFU program according to the relevant installation procedures. See YP-U3
DFU Update_Ver1.ppt.
2) Connect the player to the PC via the USB interface while pressing both the Record and Play
keys simultaneously.
(To press the keys simultaneously, press the Record key just before pressing the Play key.)
