To lock channels by rating:

If you have not yet selected a secret code,
the menu will ask you to enter a
secret code. Use the number buttons on the remote control (0 – 9) to enter any
four numbers you choose. Enter the new code again when prompted.
If you have selected a secret code already, the menu will ask you to enter
it. Use the number buttons on the remote control (0 – 9) to enter your secret
code.
After you enter your secret code, the HDTV will display the Set Locks by
Rating menu. This menu lists both MPAA and FCC TV Parental Guidelines
ratings. You can lock MPAA and FCC TV Parental Guideline ratings indepen-
dently of each other, allowing you to restrict television programs above a cer-
tain rating but not movies, for example.
The MPAA ratings that are unlocked are indicated in blue; ratings that are
locked are indicated in red.
FCC TV Parental Guideline ratings that are unlocked are indicated by a “U;”
ratings that are locked are indicated by an “L.”

Highlight the rating you would like to lock and press ENTER.
MPAA ratings:
The rating will be locked (indicated by red text), as well as
all ratings higher than the one you select.
FCC Parental Guidelines: The rating will be locked (indicated by a “L”), as
well as all ratings higher than the one you select. For example, in the illustra-
tion above, the TV-G rating and all of the defining content categories are
locked, therefore, all ratings above it (TV-PG, TV-14 and TV-MA) and all
defining content for those ratings were automatically locked out, as well.
NOTE
You can quickly
access the Set Locks
by Rating menu by
pressing V.CHIP on
the remote control.
The HDTV will ask
you to enter your
secret code, then
it will ask you to
enter the code again
for confirmation. The
Lock Channels By
Rating menu will
appear. Select the
lock settings you
desire. Press EXIT to
exit the menu.
NOTE
If you try to tune to
a program locked
by ratings, you will
be prompted to
enter your secret
code to view the
program.
The TV Parental
Guidelines consist of
two separate
groups: The TV-Y
and TV-Y7 group is
for young children.
The other group,
TV-G through TV-MA,
applies to everybody
else. The restrictions
for these two age
groups must be set
up separately.
