Fine Tuning Analog Channels
If the analog channels on your HDTV are not crisp and clear, you may want to
fine tune them for a better picture. You can only fine tune analog signals; you can-
not fine tune digital signals. See “Checking Digital Channel Signal Strength” below
for information on improving the reception of digital signals.
To fine tune analog channels:

Use CH yz or the number buttons to tune to the analog channel you
would like to fine tune.

Highlight the Setup icon and
press ENTER.

Highlight Setup Channels and
press ENTER.

Highlight Fine Tune Channels
and press ENTER.

Move the I-Point control to the
left or the right to fine tune the
channel. Press the 0 button on the
remote control at any time to reset the fine tuning to 0.
The television picture will change according to the fine tuning adjustments you set.

Press EXIT to exit the menus. If you would like to fine tune additional analog
channels, repeat steps 1 – 5 above.
If you connected both a cable TV and an indoor/outdoor antenna:

Press ANTENNA. This will switch the HDTV to the signal from
the other antenna.

Repeat fine tuning channels as described above for the other antenna.
Checking Digital Channel Signal Strength
Unlike analog channels, which can vary in reception quality (from a “snowy”
picture to a clear picture), digital (HDTV) channels either have perfect reception
quality or you will not receive them at all. Therefore, unlike analog channels,
you cannot fine tune a digital channel.
You can, however, adjust your antenna to attempt to pick up digital channels that
you are not currently receiving. To do this, Samsung has provided a meter that
you can use to check digital signal strength. The stronger the signal strength is,
the more digital channels you will be able to watch.
You will not be able to use the meter to check analog signal strength. See “Fine
Tuning Analog Channels” above for information on improving the reception quality
of analog channels.

If you press DISPLAY
after fine tunning the
analog channels,
a message,
“MANUALLY TUNED”
shows on the screen.
