(Menu 4-8)
In this menu, you can set up default information
for using the messaging features.
Press the Up or Down key to scroll to a message
type and press the Select soft key.
Short Message Settings
You can have several settings. Each setting has
following options:
Centre address: allows you to view the number
of your SMS centre required when sending
messages.
Expiration: allows you to set the length of time
for which your text messages are stored at the
message server while attempts are made to
deliver them.
Default type: allows you to set the default
message type.
Name: allows you to set the setting’s name.
There are the following options in the Common
settings menu.
Reply path: allows you to set your SMS centre
number as a reply path so that the recipient can
send a reply through it. The charge is billed to
you.
Delivery report: the network informs you
whether or not your message has been delivered.
Network selection: allows you to select a
preferred data transmission method.
Keep a copy: your phone leaves a copy of your
message in Outbox after sending it.
Character support: allows you to select the
character set when editing and sending
messages.
GSM alphabet: you can compose a message
using GSM characters.
Unicode: you can compose a message using
Unicode characters. All GSM characters are
included in the Unicode character set. However,
when using Unicode, the maximum number of
characters which can be entered in a message is
reduced by half.
