Getting connected
You can use your phone to exchange
information with other mobile devices as well as
your computer, a network, or the Internet. You
have the following connection options:
• Exchange information between devices with
Bluetooth capabilities without a physical
connection.
• Connect to your Internet service provider
(ISP) or the network at your company. Once
connected, you can send and receive e-mail
and instant messages, browse the Internet or
intranet, and synchronise information using
ActiveSync.
• Connect to your computer to synchronise
remotely. Once connected, you can
synchronise information such as your Pocket
Outlook data. For details on ActiveSync, see
Chapter 4 “Synchronising information.”
Beaming with Bluetooth
Bluetooth is a short-range wireless
communications technology. Devices with
Bluetooth capabilities can exchange data over a
distance of about 10 meters (30 feet) without
requiring a physical connection.
Unlike infrared, you don’t need to line up the
phone with another device to beam information
with Bluetooth.
