Screen Keyboard Types
Your phone offers two screen QWERTY keyboards:
•
Samsung Keypad
(default): Use the Samsung Keypad to enter
text by touching keys on the screen. The Samsung Keypad
includes predictive text. You can also use XT9 predictive text and,
with the screen in portrait mode, you can use a 3x4 phone style
keypad.
•
Swype
: Use the Swype keyboard to enter words by gliding your
finger over the virtual QWERTY keyboard, lifting your finger
between words. You can also touch individual keys or use Swype
Word Prediction or Voice Recognition.
Changing the Keyboard Type
When entering text, you can select the type of virtual
keyboard you wish to use.
Touch and hold on a text input field, then select a
keyboard type:
• Samsung keypad
• Swype
Using the Samsung Keypad
The Samsung Keypad is a custom screen QWERTY keyboard,
featuring predictive text and handwriting recognition. Input
characters by touching the on-screen keys with your finger,
or trace characters on the screen with your finger.
As you enter characters, predictive text matches your key
touches to common words and displays them. Select a word
from the display to insert it into your text.

Configure the Samsung Keypad to your preferences.
