3. Unmounting

When disconnecting the T1 from your PC, please use the Safely Remove Hardware feature to protect 
your data and prevent possible damage to the product. 

Important Information: 

Unplugging the USB cable without first performing Safely Remove 

Hardware may cause data loss or damage to the product. Be sure to use the Safely Remove 
Hardware feature every time you disconnect the device. The manufacturer and retailer are not 
liable for loss of user data or product damage caused by user error.

Windows OS

Select Safely Remove Hardware from the taskbar notification area, select the device you wish to remove, 
and then click Eject. When the device has been safely removed, you will be notified by the OS. Remove 
the cable only after the activity indicator LED on the product turns red and then turns off.

Mac OS

In Mac OS, right-click on the T1 icon, then select Eject or drag the icon to the Trash to safely remove the 
product. Remove the cable only after the activity indicator LED on the product turns red and then turns 
off.

Failure to comply with the following warnings may result in personal injury, product damage and/or data 
loss.

Backing Up Important Data and Guarantees

Under no circumstances does Samsung Electronics guarantee the data stored on the T1. Samsung 
Electronics denies any and all liabilities for psychiatric and/or physical damage or losses caused by loss 
or restoration of data stored on the T1. Be sure to back up important data at all times.

Guarantees Regarding Forgotten Passwords

Because the T1 utilises advanced encryption technologies, user data cannot be accessed if the 
password is forgotten. Please write down your password in a safe place to prevent losing it. If the product 
cannot be used due to a forgotten password, the product can be restored to its factory settings at a 
Samsung Service Centre. However, restoring the device to factory settings will result in the permanent 
loss of all user data. Restoring the factory settings will also reset the password. Please note that 
password-locked user data cannot be recovered prior to restoring the device to its factory settings. Be 
sure to back up all important data on a regular basis.

Compliance with Safety Standards and Connecting to Certified Devices

This product has been designed to comply with limited power source according to safety standards. 
Please be sure to use devices and USB ports that properly comply with limited power source of the 
relevant standards.

Physical Shock

When using the product, avoid physical shocks such as dropping the product. Bending or twisting the 
unit may damage the exterior of the product as well as internal components.
