The mower is retracted when the safety device operates
Safety device’s spring (
Fig. 8
) is adjustable by changing the force needed to make safety
device work. In the event of hitting an immovable obstacle one of the safety device flat bars slides
out and disengages the safety device. After that the mower folds back about 20 degrees (
Fig. 9
).
The operator has time to shut off the tractor and protect the mower.

If the safety device breaks away too easily, tighten the spring by approximately 0.04 – 0.08
″
.
DO NOT tighten too much, because you may prevent the safety device from working and damage
the mower.
NOTE:
Do not move the mower’s safety breakaway device from transport to
working position and vice versa with the mower’s cutting unit lifted up, the
engine operating or the tractor’s neutral gear engaged.

In order to switch the mower’s safety breakaway device from transport to working position, do
the following:
lower the mower’s cutting unit onto the ground,
disengage the transport lock (
Fig. 10a-b
),
turn the tractor’s front wheels maximum left (
Fig. 13
) and drive backwards until the
mower’s catch bumper contacts the middle beam,
turn off the tractor’s engine and engage neutral gear or hand-brake, so that the tractor is
secured against moving,
push the mower’s safety breakaway device onto pin on the catch and protect with cotter
(
Fig. 11a-b
).
