Preface
With your choice of the Saladmaster® Stainless Steel Cookware, you have made an
investment in good health and nutrition. The Saladmaster® cooking system means
maximum nutrition and flavor without unnecessary calories. It also means optimum
retention of vitamins and minerals. Cooking the Saladmaster® way enhances the
basic flavors of healthful food without adding excessive salt, sugar, fats or oils. You will
discover the true, natural tastes of foods.
Low-moisture cooking reduces cooking time too. Certainly, that makes your work in
the kitchen easier and less time-consuming. Stovetop roasting and baking, rather than
conventional oven use, can reduce your labor by as much as one-half for many foods.
Saladmaster®’s unique vapor-seal lids create a semi-vacuum which shortens cooking
time and helps keep food warm long after the heat is turned off.
The original Saladmaster® machine, which is simple to use and easy to store, was
our company’s first product. Through the years, this handy shredder and slicer has
repeatedly proven itself. Its success created a demand for cookware as functional as
the Saladmaster® machine. With nutrition, convenience and economy always primary
considerations, we developed cookware to uphold those same quality standards.
Before you begin cooking with your new Saladmaster® Cookware, please read and
follow the instructions for proper use and care. This guide includes everything you
need to know about Saladmaster® Cookware, complete with step-by-step instructions,
uses for each piece of equipment, healthful food replacements and much more.
By following our simple, clear instructions, you will quickly learn the techniques for
the ultimate in healthful cooking the Saladmaster® way.
Introduction
By following the techniques recommended for your new Saladmaster® Healthy

The special design of your system preserves vital nutrients through efficient heat
distribution. The Vapo Valve™ in the cover eliminates guesswork by signaling when
to turn down the heat, thus creating a vapor seal that allows cooking without added
water or fat.
The unique Versa Loc™ Handles make this cookware suitable for use in the oven and
even under the broiler. Simply remove the Versa Loc™ Handles and move the cookware
using the permanent stainless steel brackets that hold the handles. Use pot holders
when removing the pan from the oven. For rangetop cooking and serving, attach the
Versa Loc™ Handles.

Important Use and Care
Before First Use
Wash each piece of your new Saladmaster® System, including Versa Loc™ Handles,
in warm, soapy water to which you have added 250 ml (one cup) of vinegar per 3.8 L
(one gallon) of water. This removes all traces of manufacturing oils and polishing
compounds. Rinse in clear, warm water and dry thoroughly with a clean, soft towel.
Daily-Use Cleaning
After each use, remove Versa Loc™ Handles, wash cookware and handles in warm,
soapy water, rinse and dry, or remove Versa Loc™ handles and clean cookware in
automatic dishwasher. To maintain a polished finish on the handles, avoid using
abrasive cleanser on the handles or cleaning them in the dishwasher.
For Stubborn Stains or Stuck-on Food
Rinse pan with hot water and sprinkle with the Saladmaster® stainless steel cleanser
that was packed with your cookware, and create a paste. Using a damp paper towel,
rub in a circular motion. Wash well in hot, soapy water to remove all cleanser, rinse and
dry with a clean towel. Never use steel wool or hard abrasives on the outside surface of
the cookware as they might dull the finish.
