Starting & Driving
Driving
When driving, you should pay attention to the following
points:
• Do not overload or excessively ‘rev’ the engine.
• Do not stop the engine when the car is in motion with
a gear selected.
• Seek MG Authorised Repairer if you think your car oil
consumption is abnormal.
• If a misfire is suspected, or the car lacks power while
driving, provided the engine has reached its normal
operating temperature, it may be driven SLOWLY (at
risk of catalyst damage) to MG Authorised Repairer or
suitably equipped servicing garage.
• Do not drive on terrain likely to subject the underside
of the car to heavy impacts.
Note:
The engine never can be modified without
permission. Because it will lead to engine misfire, loss
of engine performance or engine run-on, which could
seriously damage the catalytic converters.
Regular
maintenance must be carried out in accordance
with the schedule specified in the ‘Warranty and
Maintenance Manual’.
