3 INSTALLING LOCAL HASP
A local HASP key protects a single software copy deployed on a single PC; thus, it must be installed on the PC
which is running the software in question.
To install a HASP key, you must have the administrator privileges.
To learn how to install HASP HL Time or HASP HL Pro local hardware keys , use the instructions given in Installing
Hardware HASP .
To learn how to install HASP SL Trial local software key , use the instructions given in Activating a Trial Version .
To learn how to install HASP SL Time or HASP SL Pro local software keys on a computer which has internet
connection, see Online Activation .
To learn how to install HASP SL Time or HASP SL Pro local software keys on a computer which has no internet
connection, see Offline Activation .
To modify the licensing conditions for the software you have purchased, see Remote Key Update .
3.1 Installing Hardware HASP
To install a local hardware key ( HL key ), follow the steps below:
1. Form your installation CD, install the pre-requisites required to deploy the licensed software
(including the HASP driver).
2.
Install the STC licensed software from your installation CD.
When installing STC software, use the installation guide or the user guide it comes with.
3. Make sure the Sentinel License Manager service is running.
4. Plug the HASP key into a USB port and wait until Windows confirms the HASP driver installation.
5. Using the Sentinel Admin Control Center web app, check whether the HASP key you have just
installed is active .
